HPD and Other Community Partners with My Brother's Keeper

The Houston Police Department is very proud to be a part of
the My Brother’s Keeper (MDK) initiative.

The My Brother's Keeper (MBK) initiative originated from the
White House in 2014 for the purpose of addressing any inequitable conditions faced by boys and young men of color. Improving future outcomes for our youth and children means a better quality of life in the future, for all Houstonians.

HPD along with other community and corporate partners workscollaboratively to help local youth attain the MBK six goals which are; enter school ready to learn, read on 3rd grade level by the 3rd grade, graduate high school ready
for college or career, complete post-secondary education or training, enter the workforce successfully, reduce crime and violence and provide second chance opportunities.

Members of the Houston Texans, although in the middle of a playoff run, took the time to engage with children at Bruce Elementary School in partnership with HoustonISD and the Barbara Bush Literacy Foundation.

And as the Texans go for another win this weekend, HPD says “GoTexans!!!”

Class 228 was exciting for their graduation!!!

Great job, Officer Durrett!!

Houston Coffee and Cars

This past weekend, Houston Coffee & Cars car show was held at Memorial City Mall.  HPD Officer Jason Knox entered an HPD patrol car in the event and handed out stickers to kids, adults and interacted with the community in a positive way.

Houston Coffee & Cars featured many cars on their Facebook page, including the police car, stating, “A great candidate for best in show! Special thanks to the officer for making so many people smile!”
