2017 Jail Break Run in Baytown, Texas

HPD took part in the 2017 Jail Break Run in Baytown, TX this past weekend. The race is both a 5K or a Half Marathon and the proceeds benefit Project Blue

Sgt. Hal Bohn won 2nd place in his age category for the half marathon.

City of Houston Recognized Retired Senior HPD officer Albert Coleman

The City of Houston recognized retired Senior Houston Police Officer Albert Coleman for his outstanding and exemplary service to the Houston Police Department. Mr. Coleman served in the US Army from 1962-1969, then joined HPD from 1969 to 2002. He was the first African-American to integrate the prestigious ranks our Motorcycle Unit "Solos" in 1972. He retired honorably after 33 years, and has still served the community in Northeast Houston as Super Neighborhood President.

Thank you to Craig W. who sent us these pictures of his daughter, Jordan, at the Night to Shine sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. The event was held at Chapelwood Methodist Church last week. 

In his words, “The officers made a great impression on my daughter, Jordan.  She still has the flowers presented by an officer when she first arrived.  Thank you for all you do.”
